Spencer D. Jackson bridges high-level chemical engineering with practical, boots-on-the-ground building science to solve complex enclosure failures. As Founding Principal of Jackson Envelope Consulting, LLC, Spencer works with property owners, attorneys, developers, and asset managers to evaluate, diagnose, and remediate compromised building enclosures across both commercial and residential sectors nationwide.
Spencer’s approach to building enclosure performance is rooted in material thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and fluid transport mechanisms. By evaluating how climate dynamics, material compatibility, and thermal expansion impact long-term envelope integrity, he identifies and eliminates risks at the most vulnerable areas of building enclosures—specifically critical transitions, material interfaces, and air/water penetrations.
Throughout his career, Spencer has established himself as a trusted authority in post-construction enclosure diagnostics, forensic water-intrusion investigations, and non-destructive structural evaluations. His chemical engineering background enables him to analyze complex material degradation, sealant failures, and thermal anomalies at a fundamental molecular and thermodynamic level rather than treating them solely as superficial defects.
Today, Spencer serves as a diagnostic lead on complex post-construction projects nationwide, delivering rigorous forensic analysis and pragmatic remediation oversight to protect structural assets, mitigate liability, and extend the functional lifespan of building assemblies.

Spencer’s technical leadership spans post-construction assessments, failure analysis, and specialized education in building enclosure diagnostics.
As Founding Principal of Jackson Envelope Consulting, LLC, Spencer leads an independent consulting practice focused on building enclosure integrity, forensic failure diagnostics, and post-construction risk mitigation.
Prior to establishing his consultancy, his background in chemical engineering provided the technical framework for analyzing complex material interactions and environmental degradation mechanisms within the built environment.
In addition to his practice, Spencer serves as an Instructor for the Infraspection Institute, teaching advanced infrared thermography and thermal analysis. He also actively contributes to the regional business community, serving on the Ambassadors Committee for the Charlotte Area Chamber of Commerce.
