For more than 30 years, Robert "Rob" Hosken has combined architecture, building science, and energy performance to help create buildings that are healthier, more durable, and dramatically more efficient. As Founder and Principal of Building Performance Architecture, Rob works with owners, developers, architects, and contractors to integrate advanced building enclosure science with thoughtful architectural design, ensuring projects perform as intended long after construction is complete.
Rob's passion for high-performance buildings began early, growing up in a passive solar home in Wisconsin that required virtually no heating on sunny winter days. That experience sparked a lifelong fascination with how buildings interact with energy, climate, and the people who occupy them. His interdisciplinary background in architecture, physics, acoustics, music, writing, and art continues to shape his holistic approach to building performance today.

Throughout his career, Rob has become a recognized leader in building enclosure commissioning, energy auditing, green building certification, and quality assurance. His work bridges design intent and real-world performance, helping project teams minimize risk, improve occupant comfort, reduce energy consumption, and extend the lifespan of building systems.
Today, Rob serves as a trusted advisor on complex commercial, institutional, multifamily, and public-sector projects, combining rigorous technical analysis with collaborative problem-solving to deliver buildings that are efficient, resilient, and built to last.
Rob has provided consulting and commissioning services for a wide range of commercial, institutional, multifamily, aviation, and public-sector developments.
