Michael Broussard is a building performance practitioner and HVAC diagnostic specialist at Building Science Advisors, bringing over a decade of progressive mechanical, field supervision, and building enclosure testing experience to the advisory team. As an owner and partner of Airelytics LLC based in Lafayette, Louisiana, Michael collaborates directly with homeowners, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to evaluate how mechanical systems interact with building pressure, airflow dynamics, insulation, and moisture behavior.

Michael’s foundation in the trade began in 2014, advancing rapidly from an HVAC installer helper to lead installer, quality control inspector, and eventually Lead Quality Control Inspector for a major new-construction contractor’s Louisiana Western Division. He went on to manage branch operations and supervise multi-person teams, managing accounts for 27 new-construction builders and helping generate $2.1 million in annual production growth. He later expanded his technical range as a NATE-certified commercial HVAC technician for Lennox National Account Services, troubleshooting complex commercial refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems, followed by an operations management role overseeing daily service, installation, and warranty operations.

Recognizing the critical link between mechanical performance and building physics, Michael transitioned his practice fully into whole-building diagnostics. To date, he has personally completed more than 700 residential energy assessments supporting low-income housing and efficiency initiatives, authored over 70 Home Performance Assessment reports with actionable corrective scopes, and supported third-party field testing for more than 275 residential evaluations associated with litigation projects. In 2026 alone, he conducted baseline testing and corrective protocols for 23 homes, with follow-up environmental testing demonstrating significant reductions in indoor microbial levels and improved moisture control.

Michael earned his HVAC Technician Diploma from Blue Cliff College, graduating at the top of his class with formal training in load calculations, airflow dynamics, electrical theory, and system design. Continually strengthening his practice through daily field verification, measured project outcomes, and peer collaboration, he applies a disciplined, data-driven approach to every building evaluation.
