Building Science Diagnostician & HVAC Specialist

Jon Esquivel

Jon Esquivel embodies a simple standard: Knowledge is power—when combined with relentless work ethic and execution. As a seasoned building science advisor and founder of Austin Star Comfort Services, Jon brings decades of deep field experience, technical mastery, and advanced training in HVAC system performance, energy auditing, and home health diagnostics.

‍

A U.S. Army Cavalry Scout veteran, Jon transitioned into the building science and HVAC industries over two decades ago. After graduating from Capital City Trade & Tech School in 2004, he honed his expertise across residential systems before establishing his own practice.

‍

Today, Jon specializes in solving complex, high-friction indoor environment issues. When a home suffers from chronic comfort issues, persistent odors, or poor indoor air quality, Jon identifies the true root causes that traditional contractors miss.

‍

"We act as doctors, not ambulances," says Jon. "Ambulances are necessary, but our role is deep diagnosis and long-term resolution. As a subject-matter expert, I push back on builders and sub-contractors when necessary. HVAC contractors often get blamed for problems rooted in bad air sealing, improper insulation, or flawed architectural design. Houses operate as complete systems, and we make sure every piece works as intended."

‍

Beyond his diagnostic work, Jon has served as a Texas Air Conditioning Contractor Association (TACCA) instructor for five years, teaching state license prep and continuing education to the next generation of technicians.
