HVAC Systems • Dehumidification • Psychrometrics • Humidity Control • Building Forensics
For more than four decades, David has worked at the intersection of Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems, environmental control, and building performance. His career has focused on understanding how temperature, moisture, airflow, pressure, and mechanical systems interact within the built environment—and diagnosing why buildings fail to maintain their intended environmental conditions.
David brings more than 40 years of experience in HVAC system design and application, technical sales, field implementation, troubleshooting, and senior leadership. During his career, he has held technical sales and sales management positions with three of the world's largest HVAC equipment manufacturers, working extensively in both domestic and international markets.
His principal area of expertise is dehumidification and environmental temperature and humidity control, with particular depth in applied psychrometrics, sensible and latent load analysis, dew- point control, cooling and dehumidification processes, dedicated outdoor air systems, and vapor-compression and desiccant-based dehumidification technologies.
David has applied this expertise across healthcare, aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and mission-critical environments where control of temperature and moisture is essential to occupant comfort, building durability, process reliability, product integrity, and indoor environmental quality.
At Building Science Advisors, David provides specialized HVAC and humidity-control expertise for the investigation and resolution of complex building-performance problems. His forensic approach combines psychrometric analysis with HVAC systems performance to identify the root causes of persistent humidity, comfort, and environmental-control problems.
His focus is not simply determining what is happening within a building but understanding why it is happening—and translating that understanding into technically sound, practical corrective strategies.

Expertise & Areas of Practice
HVAC system design, application, performance, and troubleshooting
David is an American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Life Member and Distinguished Lecturer and both develops and instructs professional development programs for the ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI). A frequent contributor to ASHRAE Journal, he has authored technical articles and educational programs addressing psychrometrics, dehumidification, humidity control, HVAC system design, healthcare environments, and building performance.
As an international speaker and educator, David is recognized for translating complex thermodynamic and psychrometric principles into practical concepts that engineers, contractors, facility professionals, and building owners can apply to real-world building and HVAC challenges.
