Building Science Advisors exists because the building industry has a structural conflict of interest. Every specialist who responds to a building failure has a financial stake in a particular repair. We do not. We diagnose root causes, define corrective actions, and verify outcomes — without selling equipment, performing remediation, or profiting from the scope of any repair.
Donald Brodsky has spent four decades diagnosing why buildings fail and what it actually costs to fix them. His career began in commercial refrigeration — an immersion in thermodynamics and mechanical system performance that became the foundation for everything that followed. He has managed thousands of complex remediation projects, specialised in concrete moisture vapor diagnostics, and founded Flash Air Care LLC where he moved beyond surface cleaning to diagnosing the humidity imbalances and HVAC design failures driving contamination. He founded Building Science Advisors on one principle: the firm that diagnoses the problem should never profit from fixing it.

In medicine, the physician who diagnoses a condition does not also own the pharmacy, the surgical centre, and the rehabilitation clinic. That separation exists because a diagnostician with a financial stake in the treatment cannot be trusted to give an unbiased diagnosis. The same logic applies to buildings — and almost nowhere in the building industry is it observed. When an HVAC contractor assesses a humidity problem, they benefit from selling equipment. When a remediation company evaluates mold, they profit from the size of the scope. Building Science Advisors was founded to be the exception: a firm whose only financial interest is an accurate diagnosis and a lasting solution.
